Today I have an institutional role in the association as president . This leads me to have to combine my emotions with rationality. At this moment I believe that the association is going in the right direction, I am very proud of where we have arrived so far. In recent months we have realized that we are having an impact, in our small way, to improve the public debate. For us it is an important milestone. At this moment I feel a great responsibility, because in Orizzonti Politici there are 80 boys and girls who work every day to keep the association alive. Without them all this would not be what it is today. How do you see Orizzonti Politici in the near future? Orizzonti Politici is a constantly evolving pool of ideas, it is difficult to say what we will be in the future. There are many factors that influence our work. I certainly see in the future a consolidated and nationally recognized Think Tank, which manages to have an impact at the Policy Making level. The great challenge will be to be able to maintain that innovative capacity that has distinguished us from other associations. I wish it wasn't just a point of reference for all people looking for in-depth information. Our job must be to inspire young people like us to take an interest in politics and economics, only in this way can we change Italy. Our dream is to create a constructive and accessible public debate , but this work requires commitment, we are still at the beginning.
What are the most important challenges you are facing? The challenges are many. One of the most important is determined by the pandemic, if on the one hand the association has grown, on the other we have always worked remotely. Numerous boys and girls have entered Orizzonti Politici, but I have never seen many of them in person. While Zoom conversations can help you get to know each other, they will never replace a face-to-face conversation. Working remotely will be a challenge , also because more and more young people of European and non-European origins are Morocco Phone Number joining the association. So it will be increasingly difficult for people to meet. If you lose direct contact with people you risk losing motivation and the meaning of the things you are doing. The second challenge concerns social media . They are a cornerstone of our activity, being the first source of information for young people. For now our main channels are Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin . We use these communication channels to encourage people to learn more about our site. Clearly it is not easy to do this because young people want to consume content on social media.
However, we know that in-depth analysis cannot only take place on social media, because information cannot always be quick and easy. The third great challenge will be to make it clear that we are not simply an Instagram page . We must be able to communicate to the outside world the multiplicity that a reality like Orizzonti Politici represents. Each channel has to have its own tone of voice, it's not a simple task, but we are trying to find what works best for us. To communicate effectively we must understand how young people's communication on social media evolves to keep their attention on our channels. Have you ever thought about Orizzonti Politici politically in the field? Very often in Orizzonti Politici we talk about this topic. In my opinion, our association must remain linked to its mission and be independent, constructive and accessible. Actively entering politics would mean partially giving up this mission, as the association could no longer communicate and share information with the same freedom. The association today has a non-partisan position and seeks to establish a constructive and positive debate in society. Entering the political context would not allow us to carry out the task for which the association was created. We can have an impact even without getting into politics, these months are proof of this. Our online contents are making many more young people aware of the problems of our country, for us this already means changing things.
